Pat Johnson - Garden Designer, Essex

The recent case studies of Pat Johnson, Essex based garden designer, showing the exciting, modern look of environmentally friendly recycled glass, the low maintenance garden design which is a speciality of Pat's and the more traditional look combining interesting shapes.

My client wanted an exciting and 'funky' feel to this ordinary front garden.

Pat Johnson designed a thoroughly modern look

She is also very environmentally aware and use of recycled glass appealed to her. When the hedge along the wall has grown the colour of the glass should be enhanced.

This client wanted a low maintenance garden with no lawn and the design opens up the small garden to give an impression of space.

I used a pattern of railway sleepers and raised beds to break up the paving and give the garden interest. When the plants mature they will help divide the garden into areas.

On this occasion the client wanted a garden with distinct shapes whilst retaining a natural feel which was achieved as follows
